Hi welcome to another video my name is Vincent Woon. Summer is here and all we want to do is go out and enjoy the sun that’s what we’ve been waiting for and we want to go outside to do stuff. But before you do that! In this video I’m going to share with how to avoid heat stress.

Let’s take a look at what heat stress is. Heat stress is simply too much sun basically getting too much heat exposing yourself in the sun for a long period of time and not having protection (from the sun).

How do we identify heat stress?  These are what you should be looking for: if a person’s body temperature jumps to 40 degree centigrade = 104 degrees fahrenheit in 10-15 minutes or their face turned red and hot and their skin is dry but no sweating or dizziness and if they are starting to have slurred  speech

What can you do? The key is to Always stay cool!

If the kids can’t stay home and they wants to go to the park make sure you bring a spray bottle you can always use a recycle spray bottle. Make sure you clean them and I would suggest not to use from Clorox bottle or you can get them from the store.

Don’t forget to use sun block to avoid sun burn

Drink more water then usual because your body needs more fluid than usual. It is recommended 8 to 12 cups of water daily.

When you prepare water to goto the park, make sure you freeze them in the freezer before you freeze them make  sure you leave a little gap in the bottle when it freezes the bottle won’t explode.

Why do we freeze the water? Well it’s simply keeps the water stay cooler for a longer time compare to just refrigerated water.

Find parks that have a sprinkler or a water fountain to cool you or your kids down.

Or check out your local area to see if there’s any local swimming pool or indoor ice skating ring. We are very blessed here in Queens New York! that we have the Flushing Aquatic Center and the World On Ice both under one roof , you can swim in the Aquatic Center any if it’s still hot outside you can go ice skating next door…. Hey look someone is skating in their shorts.

If it’s hot at home you can always turn on the air conditioner and if it’s too cold turn off the air conditioner and turn on the fan!

Thank you very much for watching, if you like it tell it to your friends and don’t forget to visit my blog for at http://StressedOutStressFree.com and sign up for my free daily paper on stress and health. And I see you in the next video and stay cool
