Stretch For Side Sleepers Series Of Sleeping Position 3 -Stretch Tip Of The Week Episode #18
Stretch For Side Sleepers or those who sleep on the side.
This is the 3rd part of Special Series of stretches for sleep position to be done as soon as you wake up in the morning.
This stretch is for those who sleeps on the side. Sleeping on the side is a very common way to sleep. A lot of people I know including me sleep in this position, the only one important thing to know is sleeping in this position is not to sleep on your left side if possible…WHY? because most of your internal organs are on this side like the lungs and your liver. It’s more comfortable to sleep on the right side and it helps take care of your hip or spinal problem you might have. This position also puts pressure on your shoulders if you do not sleep with the proper positioning of pillows (to be discuss in more detail in coming post).
The stretch for side sleepers:
- Reach your right arm across your chest to your left shoulder
- Press the upper right arm and hold for 5 seconds
- Reach your left arm across your chest to your right shoulder
- Press the upper left arm and hold for 5 seconds
Repeat 3-4 times or until you feel the back of your shoulder opens up.
